Begin - simple but not always easy

“Whatever you can do, or think you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.”

- Goethe

Dear reader,

Welcome to a blog that I never thought I would write. With certain apprehension at the prospect of putting myself out here in the online realm, or the real realm if I’m honest, writing these words and hitting publish is well beyond my comfort zone.

Why am I getting myself into this? Well, the idea came about when planning this website. I asked myself what type of content I’m most drawn to when diving into the world wide web. I realised that what I enjoy and really stays with me is learning about people, their experiences and stories.

It became clear, despite the initial fears, that opening a door into my yoga practice and inner life is an offering I’d like to make to anyone visiting this little virtual space.

I envision this blog as a place to explore and share what I’ve learned about yoga and my experience, in and out of the mat. Most likely intertwined with other aspects of being human that inevitably come hand in hand with a practice that goes beyond the physical sphere.

This first post has not come about easily - writing, rewriting, starting all over again. I had to remind myself to be patient and trust that I would find my way in the process. Like the little bud pushing through the soil, often we need to give ourselves the time to grow at our own pace.

Any adventure starts with one single step. We don’t need to know it all from the very beginning. It’s with experience and practice that the journey takes shape.

The boldness, the courageous action, is to take that step forward despite the uncertainty that an uncharted road brings.

If you are thinking of starting something new - going to that first yoga class, a lifestyle change or writing your first blog; I would like to encourage you to begin wherever you are in your path and with patience, let it grow from there. It might not be easy at first but the magic will emerge if we keep going.

My intention is to keep showing up, sharing and learning through the process of writing this blog. Perhaps it will inspire some of you to either take up or deepen your knowledge of this ancient practice full of unexpected gifts. Perhaps you’ll find something that you can relate to. Or maybe we can connect by sharing different views, sparking growth and understanding.

Excited to see where the journey takes us. I hope you enjoy it!
